Mississippi River Yoga Retreat September 25 – 27 2009
with Conner Burnham and Sherri May
Clarksdale, MS
Three days, two nights camp on secluded island, 27 miles of downstream paddling. We’ll leave Clarksdale at 10 a.m. Friday, and return around 5:00 pm Sunday. No previous experience necessary.
Restore your connection to nature with three days of sandbar yoga led by Conner Burnham and Sherri May on a remote uninhabited Mississippi River island. Greet each day with sunrise over the main channel of the Mississippi as you are guided in meditation by Conner Burnham.
Mid-day exploration and paddling to nearby back channels and secret waterways into jungle-bound oxbow lakes, with miles of sandbars and river beaches to explore.
The terrain is great for driftwood hunting, found objects, journaling, photography, painting and drawing!
At night time the crickets and owls sing you to sleep. At first light, terns and other shore birds will be your reveille. You’ll experience unparalleled relaxation and serenity as you leave behind worldly concerns and embrace the endless waters of the lower Mississippi River and the infinite sky. Treat yourself to a little peace and rejuvenation, Mississippi River Style.
